Is SquareFundr really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SquareFundr charges no platform fee and takes no cut of your donations. Creating a campaign, adding players, running a raffle and downloading receipts are all free. The only cost is the card processing fee charged by Square or PayPal — 2.9% + 30¢ — which goes to them, not to us, and which donors can choose to cover at checkout.

Who holds the money?

Accepted Answer

You do. Donations go directly into the organizer's own Square or PayPal account. SquareFundr never holds your funds and never moves money between accounts.

What is a squares fundraiser?

Accepted Answer

You post a photo, a numbered grid is laid over it, and each square has a price. Supporters pick squares, pay, and their name sits on the squares they claimed. The board fills up as the fundraiser goes, so everyone can see the progress.

What is a football squares board?

Accepted Answer

A 10x10 board tied to a real NFL or college football game. Supporters claim squares, and on game day the 0-9 digits are drawn for each row and column. The winner of each quarter is the square where the last digit of each team's score meets. SquareFundr draws the digits and tracks the live score; payouts are up to the organizer.

How do donors pay?

Accepted Answer

By card through Square, or through PayPal. Organizers can also accept cash, Venmo, Zelle and Cash App and mark those off themselves.

Question 6

Do supporters need an account?

Accepted Answer

No. A supporter picks their squares, enters a name and email for the receipt, and pays. Only the organizer needs an account.
