What SquareFundr is

SquareFundr is a tool for running square-grid fundraisers. An organizer uploads a photo, sets prices for numbered squares, and shares a link. Supporters claim squares and pay the organizer.

We provide the software. We are not a charity, a payment processor, a fundraising agent, or a party to the arrangement between an organizer and their supporters.

Money never passes through us

Donations go directly from the supporter to the organizer’s own account, through Square or PayPal. SquareFundr never holds, controls, or has access to those funds, and charges no platform fee.

Square and PayPal charge their own processing fees and impose their own terms, which you accept separately with them. Payouts, holds, chargebacks, and account limits are theirs to decide, not ours.

Cash, Venmo, Zelle and similar handles are recorded by the organizer for their own tracking. Those payments happen entirely outside SquareFundr and we cannot verify them.

Third-party services

SquareFundr connects to services we do not control: Square and PayPal for payments, email delivery providers for receipts and notifications, and public sports data (scores, schedules, team names and logos) for football boards. Each is governed by its own terms. We do not guarantee the accuracy or availability of third-party data — a live score can lag or be wrong, and the organizer remains responsible for confirming any result before paying a prize. Team names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to identify a game.

If you run a fundraiser

• Describe honestly what you are raising money for, and use it for that.
• Only upload photos you have the right to use, including photos of children.
• Get permission from a parent or guardian before featuring a minor.
• You are responsible for any taxes, permits, or reporting your fundraiser requires.
• You are responsible for refunds and for answering your supporters.
• Keep your payment account details accurate so money reaches you.

Football boards, raffles and games of chance

SquareFundr lets an organizer tie a board to a real game, or run a raffle. A board or raffle with cash or prize payouts may be considered gambling under state, local or federal law, and may be restricted by a school, league or organization. The organizer, not SquareFundr, decides whether to run one and is solely responsible for doing so lawfully, including registrations, prizes and payouts. SquareFundr provides the software only: it takes no fee or cut from any campaign, never holds the money, and is not a party to any wager, prize or payout. By creating a football board or raffle you confirm you have checked the laws and rules that apply to you, and you agree to hold SquareFundr and its owners harmless from any claim, loss or liability arising from it.

We show you this notice and record your acceptance the first time you turn on a raffle or attach a game to a board. Where a raffle or pool is not permitted, you must not run one on SquareFundr. Nothing on this site is legal advice.

If you support a fundraiser

You are paying the organizer, not SquareFundr. Claiming a square is a donation, not a purchase of goods or services, and generally is not refundable by us. If something is wrong with a donation, contact the organizer first; refunds are issued through Square or PayPal by the person who received the money.

Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or run a fundraiser. Keep your login details secure — activity under your account is your responsibility. Provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it current. You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard; doing so removes your campaigns from public view but does not undo donations already made to you.

Things you may not do

• Raise money by deception, or for anything illegal.
• Impersonate a team, school, organization, or person.
• Upload content that is unlawful, hateful, or infringes someone’s rights.
• Attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
• Use the service to launder money or evade payment-processor rules.

We may suspend or remove a campaign or account that breaks these rules, and may do so without notice where there is a risk of harm to supporters.

Your content

Photos and text you upload remain yours. You give us permission to store and display them as needed to run your campaign and its public page. Removing a campaign removes it from public view.

Disclaimer of warranties

SquareFundr is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We work to keep it running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, that any campaign will raise money, or that donations will reach you if a payment account was misconfigured, a processor placed a hold, or a supporter did not complete a payment.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, SquareFundr and its owners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost donations, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service — including anything to do with a raffle, football board, prize or payout. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, for a free service, is nothing.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless SquareFundr and its owners from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your fundraiser, raffle or football board; your content; your breach of these terms; or your violation of any law or of someone else’s rights.

Termination

You can stop using SquareFundr at any time and delete your account from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate an account or campaign that breaks these terms, creates a risk to supporters, or exposes us to legal liability, and we may do so without notice where the risk is serious. Sections that by their nature should survive — payments, games of chance, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law — survive termination.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally through the help centre will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Where the law allows, each of us waives any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.

Privacy

How we handle personal information — yours and your supporters’ — is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

General

These terms are the whole agreement between you and SquareFundr about the service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor of the service.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. Continuing to use SquareFundr after an update means you accept the revised terms.
