Donation receipt issues

If a donor didn't get their receipt, the receipt link is broken, or the receipt has wrong info, this article walks through fixing each.

SquareFundr emails an automatic receipt to every donor immediately after a successful donation, with a link to a printable receipt page.

Donor didn't receive the email

  1. Check spam / promotions. Receipts come from notify@notifyplus.org. Add it to your contacts list to ensure future emails arrive in the inbox.
  2. Confirm the donor's email is correct. Pull up the donation in your dashboard → if the email has a typo, you can correct it via Edit Donation and re-send the receipt.
  3. Resend. From your dashboard, find the donation and click Resend Receipt.

Receipt link returns "not found"

Receipt URLs look like /receipt/[id]. If clicking yours errors out: - Make sure you're using the exact URL from the original confirmation email (don't truncate or share a screenshot of part of it). - If the donation was deleted from the dashboard, the receipt page goes away with it. Re-create the donation manually if needed.

Receipt shows wrong donor name or amount

Edit the donation from your dashboard's Donations tab. Save → the receipt page updates immediately.

Donor needs the receipt for tax purposes

Receipts include the donation date, amount, your campaign name, and your contact info. They are not automatically marked as 501(c)(3) tax-deductible — that's only true if your organization has nonprofit status. If you're a nonprofit and want to add an EIN to receipts, mention it in a help request and we'll customize the receipt template for your campaign.
